{royal wedding}

Did you stay up late to watch the Royal Wedding? I would have, if I didn't have work today- but I did TiVo it and got up early to watch! It was so exciting, and I will admit...I cried!

My favorite moment of all was when the royal couple stood together for the first time, and William turned to Kate and said, "You look beautiful!"
Now that is the look of love! Ahhhhh! I love a good Love Story!

And wasn't her Alexandar McQueen dress just to die for? So elegant and classy!
And last, I love, love, LOVED Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid dress! So classy and beautiful!
What were your favorite moments?

{easter & banner tutorial}

Is Easter really over already? I feel like the holidays are coming and going so fast! I didn't really even get any Easter decorations out this year, except for these cute little birdies I made a few weeks ago.
I got the inspiration from another blogger who's sister makes and sells decor, similar to these at local boutiques. I love how bright and springy they are!

Also, my friend Camille posted a tutorial on her blog on how to make a banner. She sent me one in the mail a few weeks ago and I've had it up since! Love me a cute banner! I could seriously have one up all year to coincide with the holidays/seasons...hmm...there's an idea!

{TMI}

Too Much Information

We've all done it- shared more than we should have. Information that was best kept to yourself- whether it be airing your dirty laundry or speaking about your bowel movements, after it's spoken you usually think, "Oooooh...TMI!"

But when is it too much information? My TMI moments usually come when I'm sharing a story, but I only share because I want support, advice, or just a good listening ear. Yes, I might tell you about my terrible irritable bowel syndrome and how it left me aching in areas I've never ached before, but maybe you'll have some great advice regarding my situation. TMI? Yes. But the advise you gave on bismuth subsalicylate was greatly appreciated and helpful!

And what if you give TMI about family or personal relationships? Often times, I think I share too much with people. I share a personal story and hours later, when alone and pondering the conversation, I often feel that I've said too much. Will my confidant truly keep my dilemma to themselves? What if they think less of me? What if they judge me and think, "Damn girl, you crazy!" Or what if they said it out loud? "You did WHAT!?" That would be mortifying.

That is how I feel blogging sometimes. There are a lot of people I know personally who read my blog and even more who I don't know personally. Most of the time, I share things on here that are filtered. I share just enough information to give you a glimpse into my life, without opening up too much. I know what you're thinking though. "Seriously Shan? You filter what you tell us?"
I'm a blunt person and I like to keep it real, but if you only knew what I wanted to write about and don't.

Because pushing the limit- sharing TMI makes me that much more vulnerable. I've read blogs where the author poured her thoughts out wholeheartedly and the responses were just as brutally honest- some nice and some not to nice.

And that's my fear. So for now, I keep my filter on. Sometimes it's more opaque than other times, and sometimes, like tonight, I wish I could share so much with you.

Do you filter what you say? Or are you the person I wish I could be who says, "To hell with you all! This is my blog and I'm sharing what I want, come what may!"

{gray and yellow bathroom}

At cooking group tonight, my friend Ryanne told me she wanted to redo her upstairs bathroom using yellow and gray. I love that color combination (it's so happy!) and couldn't help but browse around and put together a design board for a gray/yellow bathroom! You like?

{on life lately}

Do you ever watch After Lately? It's a show based on what happens after the television show "Chelsea Lately" (kind of behind the scene stuff) and it's wickedly hilarious. I was thinking about my life the other day, and how if I had a show that showed all the behind the scene stuff, I think it would be hilarious.

We started a quote wall at work (even though it's more of a quote paper that hangs out side of my cubicle) to document all the hilarious things people I say around the office. For example, last Friday a co-workers little boy's were at the office, when one scared the other. They squealed and ran downstairs laughing. I sighed and said out loud to a quite office, "Oh to be a little boy again..." Seconds later, a burst of laughter came from a few cubicles behind me, and soon everyone was cracking up, including myself. I didn't even realize what I said until we were all rolling on the ground. Sometimes I feel like we are an episode from The Office. I would be Michael Scott, naturally. And I know exactly who would play Meredith, Kevin, Pam, Kelly, & Dwight. I'd elaborate, but I've read about bloggers who blog about work (i.e. Dooce) so I'll stop there. Talk to me in person and I'll share.

As of late- the handyman and I have been trying to get pregnant. It's been a helluva time and after shopping around, I finally feel like I'm really getting the answers we need! My doctor is uh-may-zing! Seriously, I almost started crying in his office as we spoke from feeling so relieved that I finally found a good doctor! All I could think was, "Glory be, I finally found a fertility doctor that I like!" He's so nice, soft spoken, but not timid, and very funny! I'm anxious and excited to see how things go!

I've also been busy taking engagement pics and working on wedding invitations! It's been so fun building my portfolio & designing custom invitations, even if it does take any spare time I have! I'm working on a website, but if you know anyone who needs invites/announcements in the mean time, let me know! So anyway, that's what's been going on lately.

Hope you are all doing well! xoxo

{why do you want to lose weight?}

Photobucket

Every woman I know wants to lose a pound or two...or more. Forget the number though. Why do you want to lose weight?

That's what I'm blogging about today over on Skinny Jeans.

{new bed...what do you think?}

Woah...it's been WAY too long since I last posted! Most of my blogging time has gone into my Skinny Jeans blog. When I'm not blogging (which obviously isn't often), I'm trying to keep my house clean (which, as you saw below, is a mess), make time to work out, finish up projects, and juggle church callings. Life is good, but BUSY!

Anyway, I'm changing up my bedroom and I want to get a new bed frame- something that doesn't require a bedskirt and I was looking at these two from Ikea. Which one do you like best? Leave a comment and let me know!
