I am back.

I've been so busy with work, traveling for work, and working on projects for this, and well... life kind of got in the way of blogging for awhile. But now I'm back, and I want to share some of my projects with you!
First things first...this is my latest thrift store find.

Me's for my mom! She had just told me that she'd love to find a cute secretary desk for her living room, and like 3 days later, I stumbled upon this.* Crazy, I know.

*Go ahead and tell me your inner most desires, and I'll see if I can summon my powers again and find it for you! Standard rates will apply ;)

Some pretty paint and accessories and this baby will be ready to go!

The other project I'm working on is my living/dining room.

Behold, the new sectional. We LOVE this couch! Seriously, Basset took good care of us and I couldn't be happier with the results!

Now I want to find a new chandelier for above my table. I'm thinking of a drum chandelier, specifically like one of the ones below....

via shades of light

I also want to paint the brown wall more of a gray color, cover my toile parsons chairs in a simple linen, and maybe take the chair railing down and put up some other molding.

I love your reflection in the glass, too cute! Can't believe you found that at a thrift store, what a score!

I am looking for a very similar light. Well, I'm not really looking, just wanting ;)

LOVE the couch! Totally might have to get one of my own, in a lighter shade, if they have one!

I think... go for a bold molding. Some clean lines... maybe some white paint... wait... that sounds familiar. LOL. I know, I know... I just LOVE me some fresh white molding!!!
Everything looks great!
I love the first drum chandelier!
PS... how is studio 5 workin' out? ;)

Lucky Mom, and your place is looking Oo La La!
P.S. I am on the hunt for an old picket gate, keep your eyes peeled.

Gah! I have literally been camping Craigslist for a perfect sections for months, and months AND months. Maybe even a year! Very awesome :)

I like lamp #1 and #2 :) A grey color would be really pretty! Ours is sort of a lighter grayish/brown? I call it chocolate milk :)

Ughhh I can't wait until I can paint someday. I love the gray wall idea. We lived in an old old house when we first got married with light gray walls and I loved everything about it. I love the middle light fixture the best. I want it actually! Can't wait to see the end results!

Guess I'm the only one who loves the last fixture, but that's more my style. The sectional looks wonderful! We're on the hunt for a sectional and I may have to copy yours (it's the sincerest form of flattery, right?). Wish I could give my two cents but I tend to get my inspiration from people like you!

I love the new sectional and all of your ideas! All of your drum shades look fab...I would have a very difficult time choosing. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Looks great. I like the light fixtures you are choosing from. In one of my recent House Beautiful's they had a bunch of really great grays (names/brands, etc..) If you don't get House Beautiful I'd love to look it up for you and send out some color ideas for you?

I'm glad you're back! I was wondering where you went!!

Yes I'm jealous of the desk.

And yes I will say once again how much I love your floors. Your couch is fabulous.

I love the second chandelier the most.

Even though I don't know you personally, I think you should come down to Orem and stare at my bedroom with me and tell me how to treat it. I could use some help with the rest of the room as well. Oh, and I need help picking colors for my front door and shutters.

You don't happen to work for free do you? (:

Hi Shannon - Sometime when you are visiting McCall tell her you need to go see her aunt Courtney's house. It's not too far from her. You guys have a very similar style and she does what you do ... finds things at DI and fixes 'em up, making everyone jealous of her "treasure."

LOVE your new room!

Ashley Poulsen said...

I'm only *mildly* stalking you. And i swear it's only via blogger, but were you at DI on Saturday? I SWEAR i saw you there, but i had only discovered your blog like the day before, so i could have just been hallucinating.

You find such great things! And I love your new couch! I love the chandeliers too... any are cute, but I love the middle one!

I like the simplicity of the first drum light, only because of the business of the end chairs, brown suede wall, white side chairs and the word leaning / hanging from the wall between your window and pass through. Actually, I'm curious about the lettering artwork. HOW is it hung / displayed and what is it made of? Will it be hung higher on the wall for ease of viewing from all angles? - (ah! so many questions.) The sectional IS nice and it looks like kitty approves, too.

Wow that room looks great! I think one of the round drum shades would accent the room quite well! I especially like the one in the top picture, and like the glamorous look of the stainless!
