{think pink}

I've always loved the color pink. Maybe because it's girlie, or because it's a happy color, usually associated with valentines day and love, but now it has a new meaning to me. It's the official color for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Two weeks ago today, I was with my Grandma when she heard the news. She has breast cancer. Wanting to stay positive and not make it a huge deal, I didn't say much about it to anyone, but today she had her first surgery, and the news came that we didn't want to hear.

Her battle has just begun.
I hope and pray, God willing, that she can fight it.

My heart is breaking for her. I never thought, in a million years that this would happen to someone so close to me. It is surreal.

If it's not too much to ask, would you mind keeping us in your prayers?

Because I believe that our loving Heavenly Father hears our prayers, and I believe in faith to be healed.

Many, many thanks
xo
Shan

oh, I am so sorry to hear it!! I will most certainly keep your grandma in my prayers, and the rest of you, her family, too. I KNOW how hard it is, but I also know that you will find depths of God's grace and beautiful comfort when you need it most. You see, my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor that turned out to be cancer just a few weeks before Christmas. And even though it's been so hard, I can honestly say "God is good" in a whole new way!! I will be praying the same for you and your grandma. :)
HUGS!!

I just said a prayer for her and you all! Both my Grandma and my Aunt (married in) are breast cancer survivors - it is a crushing experience but they are both two of the strongest women I know now! Will keep you all in my prayers :)

Shannon, I am so sorry to hear this. I recently went through a battle with cancer in my own family. My dad was diagnosed with cancer 3 months ago and has been in and out of the doctors for what seems like forever, but I want you to know there is hope. After many priesthood blessings, prayers, and fasting from friends and family, he is doing much better and on the road to recovery. I want you to know your and your family will be in my prayers. I send my love your way!!!

I am so sorry Shannon. I hope and pray that she will recover. What I have learned from my own experience, is that the most important thing to remember is that God has a plan for everyone individually. I sincerely hope she recovers and that you have many many years with her. But if God has another plan, know that God will comfort you and help you through it. You and your family are definitely in my prayers.

Shan,

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. This is a terrible disease that affects so many people. My prayers are with you, your mom, your family and especially your Grandmother.

My sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two months ago, what an ugly disease cancer is.

Prayers, Faith and Positive thoughts to you.
