{city of angels}

Well folks, it's finally time for the handyman and I to take off and enjoy a much needed vacay! We're heading down to L.A. and I cannot wait! One of the things I'm looking forward to the most is finding the Kogi Korean Taco Truck. You may have heard them talk about it on NPR, but if you didn't you can read all about it here! I hear it's to die for!

I'm also looking forward to spending a couple of days here....It's the happiest place on earth right? It's been ages since either one of us has been, so we're really looking forward to it! Yeah, baby!

Do you watch the Food Network? We do and we love Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! Guy Fieri has even come to Utah! Did you know the Blue Plate, Red Iguana, Ruth's Diner, and Pat's BBQ have been featured on his show? We love those restaurants, so we're looking forward to finding some funky spots to eat in L.A!

We're also planning on visiting the Getty (for me), Petersen's Auto Museum (for Andrew), Canters Deli, The Grove, Venice Beach, and China Town.

Are there any fun places to visit or great restaurants that you recommend? We're also spending a few days in San Diego, so if you know of any cool spots down there, leave a comment and let us know!

Fun :) (failing to mention the fact that I hate LA lol!) I love DD&D. The Getty is really super awesome, I've only been a couple time but it's neat. The LA art museum is fun too. I guess there are a lot of cool things there. I'm jealous that you're going to D-land! I'm 2.5 hours away and can never find the time to go. If you can make it to Huntington Beach I'd go there over most of the other beaches, it's so much nicer. Hmm...I'll try to think of some other things for you :)

You should definitely go to BJ's Restaurant. Their website has the locations, and their pizza is to die for! (Everything else is good too.) Sounds like fun!

Are you on Twitter? Follow @LAFood for good CA suggestions. Or, watch the Hills... :)

Never been to LA, but SD is amazing. I recommend Villa Nueva Pastry Caffe on Orange in Coronado. This is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place. Try the cinnamon crisp. It's frisbee-sized tortilla-esque thing covered in cinnamon sugar. Get that to go for a snack later on. Actually, get four or five. :) I also got the breakfast croissant which was awesome.

If you want a good old fashioned greasy hamburger and fries or some delicious seafood right on the beach try Neptune's Net in Malibu. Yum!

OR

Have breakfast(or lunch or dinner, for that matter) at Paradise Cove. It is a restaurant right on the sand with it's own private beach. (Also in Malibu)

You will be in my old stomping grounds. Enjoy yourself!

Weston introduced us to Tito's Tacos in L.A. It is cheap, yummy yummy and definitely a dive! Its been years since I was in San Diego but we had a unique (read- geriatric? the crowd was mostly 60+) experience at the Chicken Pot Pie restaurant. That's their specialty- if you love em, you gotta go. Hopefully Google can point the way to these. Have a great trip!

If you go to the "Little Getty" in Malibu, there's that Thai Taco place that was closed for some filming going on when I was there. Sounded funky and delicious! Go to Phillipe's, the original french-dip place, it's near Chinatown, on Alameda. I LOve L.A.!!
