I can't find an email address for you, so I'll respond to your comment on mine here, just so I can make sure you get it. First of all, I'm flattered that you would call me a seasoned runner. I am a season runner (because I get too lazy to run in the winter) so I guess you're partially right! ;) The advice I would give to someone who wants to start running but is afraid of burning out is to start slow. There are lots of training programs out there for beginners that are helpful, especially since they really recognize that you're not going to go out there and throw down a 5 miler on the first day. The couch to 5k programs are the best, but I started with the easy training program provided by the very first race i signed up for. I still have that document, if you'd like I'd be happy to forward it along to you. Speaking of races, that's a REALLY good way to keep up on your training. I've found that the only way I keep running is to keep registering for races. I might not be the fastest runner out there, but I'm more likely to run 4 or 5 times a week if I have spent the money to run in an organized race. Check your local race calendar, there are always a ton in the spring and summer months. Races are a blast, I highly recommend them!Well that's a good start. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to help. You can leave another comment or my email address is linked in my profile.Happy running!!
