{Get Banged}

Interpret that however you want. Here's what I meant by it- I need a new hair style. Seriously, I'm in a rut. For some reason, I cut off most of my hair after I got married. Bad decision. I miss my long hair like the desert misses the rain. I've had it trimmed once since cutting it last October, and it's grown a few inches, but now it's in the weird, won't do anything length.
Here's how it looked post hair cut...Here is the after....(please keep your shrieks and gasps to a minimum)I didn't hate it at first, but I didn't like it- now I'm just waiting for it to grow out, and as much as I don't want to cut it more, it needs some style. This leads me to my post title. I'm thinking about getting bangs cut. Here are a couple of examples of what I like-

So, what do you think? Should I do it? If not bangs, what should I do???

You should get bangs!!! I like the last picture best. If they're too long they hang in your eyes and you end up touching them more and then they get greasy and start to separate and thats just bad news! But yeah, you'd look great with bangs. Go get banged girl...no pun intended.

BANGS ROCK! BUT! You have to get them cut right. I am sure you have someone to cut them right but just make sure. Not too many banks either and swoop to the side, not straight down. Oh yes you would look great. Can't wait to see!

Well apparently my mind was in the gutter... ;)
You look fantastic by the way.
I have wondered if I would go that route... (my hair) just remember the cute bangs hang in your eyes. I can't do it- way too annoying.
good luck!
Ps- loved the contorted animal pics! haha

I wish I had the ability to post William Hung's version of "She Bangs, She Bang" in this comment.
You should totally get bangs.

You'd look great with bangs! The ONLY THING I might consider is -- are they going to drive you nuts come the summer time? That is the only concern I have with bangs in the summer -- is that they get sweaty and then you move them and then they look like crap. I TOTALLY LOVE THE LOOK THOUGH, and I love the last picture. Those are very cute bangs!

Wow Shannon, with such a huge response you will have to do something. Otherwise you run the risk of letting down all your fans.
From a stylist point of view, when people are trying to grow their hair and they are getting miserable, I recommend color. You can change that with out losing any ground. It gives you a whole new feel and you can still keep growing. With your dark hair you can do so many things that aren't permanent and are so fun. My hair, as you know, is dark like yours right now. I have two fat slices of coppery red in the front. Not chunks mind you, I go for the more asymetrical artistic splash of color. It would breath some life into to you and it just fades out after a few months. No long term commitment.

in the humble opinion of a hairdresser:

I vote bangs... More like jennifer anistons though... they are a little longer and will be easier to grown out on the off chance that you dont like them (although I think they will look great). Also, it is hard to tell from the pic cuz you have dark hair, but it looks like you could really use some layers. It would shorten the over all length, but it will really help to give it some shape.

Also, if you are open to color: some subtle (thin natural looking) coppery highlights (about 2-3 shades lighter than your hair color - less then 2 shades wont be a noticeable difference) would look fabulous...
