Here comes the bride!

I have FINALLY picked out my wedding pictures- 6 months later, it's finally done! It shouldn't have taken me so long, but there were a million to choose from, and of course I wanted them all! When I get the album, come over to our house and look at it! In the mean time, here is a small sampling of some of my favorite shots! P.S. Many of you have asked about our photographer- I HAD to have Silver Pelican Photography do my photography! I love everything about them and my photographer Lindsey was FABULOUS! www.silverpelicanphotography.com

Christmas Lights

I love downtown at Christmas time! Andrew, Ashlyn, Steve and I rode trax downtown to see the lights, but after about 10 minutes of walking around we froze our butts off! Luckily there was a Starbucks down the street at the Gateway where we enjoyed some lovely hot chocolate!

This is my favorite tree at Temple Square! There is something magical about it's fiery glow!

We were F-f-f-freeezing!!!Steve & Ash playing with fire...notice Steve's face....I think he burnt himself!

I'm Thankful

Ah...Thanksgiving has come and gone, and what a feast we had! Aunt Cheryl hosted it this year and she did such a great job decorating and making everything so nice! Grandma and Grandpa Baker came up from Hurricane, and they brought Grandma's nice silver flatware. Cheryl folded the napkins around them and then put a little raffia to tie them together!. It was very Martha Stewart if I do say so myself, and I LOVED it! She also bought some mini pumpkins, indian corn, and squash to decorate the center of the table. I love Thanksgiving, not just because the food is so great, but I love getting together with my family! We always laugh so hard and have a great time! I also had the great responsibility of bringing the green bean casserole. I was a little nervous about how it would go over, but it was a hit and there was not one bean left in the dish when dinner was over! One Holiday tradition my family has is puzzles. It seems like this is the time of year we pull them out and they take over the table for a few days until they are done! I'm not a huge fan of puzzles, so I only helped for a few minutes, but Andrew, Mom, Barry, Cheryl, & Chad love them! They finished the puzzle in one night! Mom and Ty before dinner Gradma & Grandpa enjoying their meal! Feeling VERY full....

Barry took this last picture- I think I was asking Sphynx if he wanted more wine...hehe...j/k. Maybe it was just too much tryptophan....

I've been Tagged!!!

The rules of the game should be posted at the beginning of the post. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I dream of owning my own home decor/interior design shop. I jump at the opportunity to browse around Hip & Humble, Artichoke & Co, Evans Store House, & other funky stores and get ideas for my future shop! I also love doing artsy/crafty projects! Whether its making cards, jewelry, upholstering, sewing, etc I love it! I just wish I had more time to get them done and a place to keep all my things organized! My goal is to make a lot of jewelry & cute bags and have a sale around Mothers Day!

2. Cleaning is my therapy! Whenever I'm stressed or anxious, I clean my house! I do enjoy a good deep cleaning and the satisfaction I get after everything is organized and spotless!

3. I'm the worst back seat driver! Whenever Andrew drives, I have to bite my tongue and refrain from saying things like, "Honey, watch your speed!" or "Andrew, let this guy get over!" or "Speed up!" Andrew thinks its hilarious when he knows I'm trying to hold back, and he just looks at me, knowing I'm about to explode and says, "What's wrong sweetie?" with a sly grin on his face!

4. I love to cook and bake! I just wish I had the opportunity to do it more! Andrew leaves for school at 4:45 in the evening and is gone till 10:30, so it's hard planning and making a meal when I get home from work at 4. My goal is to become a more creative cook and have at least 3 hot dinners a week! If you have any ideas let me know!!!

5. When I sleep, I have to have the sheet turned down over the comforter. I hate feeling the raw edge on me! I know- weird! But I've been that way ever since I was little! Even a sleeping bag has to be folded down a little bit! I'm sure this drives Andrew crazy, but alas, it must be done!

6. Sometimes I catch myself staring at Andrew with "googly eyes" as he calls it! Even my mom notices when I'm looking all lovey dovey at him! Who can blame me though? He's a hottie!!!

I tag: Karlie, Laura, McCall, Kat, & Cam (since those are all the peeps on my blog!)

St. George Weekend

Andrew and I went down to St. George this weekend for a homecoming on Sunday. We were going to drive down Saturday morning, but we decided we'd try to leave Friday night. Andrew and Cyndi met me at my parents house and we left around 9. It only took us about 3 1/2 hours to drive down (thanks to Andrew) and when we got to Hurricane, Teri met us and picked up Cyndi. We finally got to my Grandparents house at about 12:30 and fell asleep FAST! The next morning my grandparents made us a really yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and yummy biscuits! We sat with them and talked for a while and finally got ready around 1, but it was so nice to just chill and catch up with my grandparents since we don't get to see them that often! After we got ready, Andrew and I drove into St. George and stopped by a cute little store called Real Deals that sells really cute home decor items at cheap prices! After we stopped there, we found this adorable little Soda Shop/Candy Store called Judd's Store. They have all sorts of old candies & sodas you can buy, and old memorabilia on the shelves and walls! We got an ice cream and ate outside- it was so fun!
If you're ever in St. George you definitely need to stop there! We also went and did a session at the St. George temple while we were down there. It was so neat because we got to see my grandparents while they were working at the temple- it was a great experience! Sunday, we went to Cory's homecoming and had fun seeing all the family again! I hadn't seen most of them since the wedding! Cory gave a really great talk (he just got home from Guatemala) and after sacrament meeting we went back to the Blake's house and ate lunch! We had so much fun this weekend and we can't wait to see everyone again on Thanksgiving!
The Beautiful Cyndi, Teri, and Shannon Crawford!
Handsome Andrew and Nate (ever since the Botox, Nate hasn't been able to smile...j/k)

Old Green

I hoped I would finish my chair last night, as it was the final class, but as you can see, I only got the inside wings on and started on the inside arms. I would have gotten more done, but I had to redo the wings 3 times! Let me tell you, pulling out about 30 staples 3 times is not fun! They still don't look as nice as I want them to, but I had to move on! I talked my teacher into letting me come in on Tuesday to finish, so I need to work FAST! The rest isn't really that hard, just tedious! I still don't know what to do about the piping either...I'm thinking I'll do a red ticking on the bias for a little contrast! Hopefully I can finish that before Thursday so I don't have to waste time working on piping. I'll keep you updated!!!P.S. I think the right wing looks a little tight...*sigh* I'll probably re-do that one...augh!

Thank You

I'm almost finished with my Thank You cards! It has taken me longer than I thought because I'm making them myself, but I am really pleased with the results! I took a picture from the wedding and my brother helped me insert the text. I took them to FedEx Kinkos to be printed, and then cut them out with a rotary paper cutter with a scalloped edge rotary blade. I found the stamp online, bought a big ink pad, and got to work!

Upholstery Update!!!

It's been a long time since I've posted updates on my chair! I missed a week when I was in Austin, and then last week we didn't have class because of UEA. I was a bit behind, so I decided to attend class on Tuesday and Thursday (I usually just go on Thursday) so I can catch up! Here are some pictures of my progress....

Nya

Sunday night, Andrew and I drove down to Fairview with his mom and dad to Aunt Paula's house for dinner. Kevin and Paula's son Ben was in town with this wife Angelina and their baby Nya. She is such a sweet girl! One minute she's cheesey and sassy and the next she's upset! A girl after my own heart! Haha!Dinner was really nice and we had a great time spending time with everyone while they were in town!

lost and found

I had a moment of panic this morning...actually, it was a few hours of panic. I lost my wedding ring. Yes, you read it correctly, I lost it. Now, any woman that is married or anyone who has spent a couple thousand dollars on a piece of jewelery knows the panic that ensues when you misplace it.
As I was getting ready this morning, I thought, "Shan, put your ring on right now so you don't forget it!" (because yesterday I was in a hurry and, I forgot it and felt naked all day) And when I didn't see it on my night stand, or on the dresser, or the bathroom sink I freaked! I went through EVERYTHING in our bedroom, looking under the bed, in the trash, and in every nook and cranny. The only other place I thought it could have been was my mom and dad's house because I was there on Wednesday getting ready for Halloween. I ran over to their house and again, felt sick when I didn't see it there. I was praying the entire time for Heavenly Father to help me find it. I even called my friends to pray for me! When I got back to my apartment, I looked all over again, and when I still had no clue where it could be, I knelt down and sincerely asked Heavenly Father to help me find it or to think of where it could be. The entire day, my thoughts kept wandering back to my two cats. My first thought was that somehow one of them might have eaten it, but I knew it was too big for that to happen. Plus, the though of rummaging through cat poop and clumps of pee was too much to think about. Then I thought, "What if when they were in here, they started playing with it and it's somewhere else in the house other than my bedroom?" So I started hunting...I looked under the table, my dining room chairs, under dressers...and finally remembered that when I can't find their mousy toys they are usually in the utility closet, because they get tossed under the door and they can't reach them. When I opened the door, I saw 2 colorful mousies, and at second glace, MY RING!!! It was half way under the vinyl. If I hadn't looked there, we never would have found it, and I'm not sure anyone would have! I'm so grateful for prayer and promptings!!! Here are some pictures of what I saw when I found it so you can get a better visual!
